This is a handpainted porcelain jar of an eye, original drawing of the famous Escher Eye with a skull in the iris. The eye drawing on the jar is surreal and one of a kind. Used for storage as well as looks, this jar size is 5 inches tall and 5 inches wide, the opening is 3 inches wide, the lid is 1.5 inches tall and 4 inches wide.

Made on a potters wheel the piece is then trimmed on the bottom to make the foot, dried and fired to a bisque temperature. The drawing is then done with an underglaze pencil and glazed with a food safe gossy clear glaze and fired again, this time to a high porcelain temperature. Since the image was not clear enough, I then painted with with a black china paint over the finished drawing on top of the glaze. I fired this again at a low temp to meld the china paint into the glaze.
